"Only if I lose. Plus it is so much cooler in there." Rebecca said moving towards the line. "Are you guys coming?"
"I think we should find Rick first. You can play all you want." Harriet said slowly making her way to the exit. Diane followed suit.
"Suit yourselves. Enjoy the heat. I'll meet you by the entrance later." Rebecca went over to wait on a short ten-minute line. Diane and Harriet made their way to the front gate. On their way, they saw Rick strolling along drinking a frozen lemonade.
They quickly walked over. "Hey guys. I was just looking for you. Where is Rebecca?"
"She is playing Freeze Tag." Diane said looking at her watch. "We can meet her in about fifty minutes."
"Cool, you guys won't believe what happened on the way in. I meet Kelly Mason on the way in. Today is her eighteenth birthday and her parents are throwing a party for her at the Mason Pavilion. She invited me to the party. She said I could bring you guys too."

Inside was a long hall lined immense glass display cases with impressive mannequins wearing the latest styles. Diane could have sworn one of them looked like her sister's best friend Charlise Mason.
A little way down the corridor, two double doors were open with a red carpet leading to a room filled with partygoers. They walked in looking at Kelly's friends gossiping, her family discussing the business, and waitresses serving them expensive hors d'oeuvres.
After walking in a few feet, they saw Kelly leave her friends and walk over to greet Rick. "Rick, I am so glad you came." She turned disappointedly to his friends. "I see you brought your friends. Hello Diane and Rebecca."
"I am Rick's other friend, Harriet."
"Oh sorry. Come over here Rick. I want you to meet my cousin Julie." Kelly started to drag Rick away from his friends. Harriet followed as Diane wandered. Everyone else there was dressed in expensive dresses and the latest fashions. She felt for the first time as if she was the fashion outcast. She walked over to a food table to get something to eat when…
