Jade, Alabastard, Q, JH, and JMD for additional information on the characters
and relevant episodes.
JH has outlined the dimensions of Otherworld, a close
parallel.
The Four Friends
(aka The Eternal Targets)
- Rick
- Being the only male of the group, Rick finds himself torn between three
desirable ladies. Plans to go to New Zealand to study art.
- In more than one storyline
Rick's last name was Eidelman [4291] (aka Eidelmann). However,
his father was referred to in one storyline as Professor Pappadopoulos
[2832] , a research scientist working at Adventureland, which would seem
to contradict this.
- Have also heard the surname
"Chesterfield' mentioned in episode 3166.
- Harriet
- Petite blonde with adorable curly hair. Perky but more book-smart and thoughtful;
occasionally reverts to blonde-isms in her speech and actions. Fit and thin,
Harriet was a track star in High School.
- Harriet's family also includes
Aunt Agatha Esmerelda Yanarella, a witch suffering from senile dementia,
and Charles Yanarella, her estranged husband who now runs a curio shop.
Should we assume Harriet's
last name is Yanarella too?? (Since in a recent episode, Harriet reveals
that all the women in her family are witches, I kinda feel that her Aunt
Agatha come from her mother's side of the family. Of course, that's open
to interpretation. In any case, I'd say the last name of Yanarella should
be considered optional.)
- In another episode [3166]
her last name is noted as 'Farthingale'
- Diane Galindo - The sophisticated
one. A sleek brunette with a grand and efficient sense of style ('if it's
not fashionable it doesn't concern me'). Has always had a crush on Rick.
- 'Galindo' used as Diane's
last name in several eps [4585,5226,5229,5338], with Diane Stone used
in [3166] however. In the same ep Rebecca's last name was Smith.
- Diane has a brother, Larry,
who is studying to be a priest [4690]
- Rebecca - A fiery redhead with
haunting green eyes (the one who kneed the star linebacker of the football
team in the nards when he tried to get to third base); she's stunning yet
modest, a girl-next-door type. The thinker of the group.
- Last name is noted as 'Smith'
[3166] but that sounds suspiciously like an alias given to fool someone...
Family of the Four
Friends
- Sarah - Harriet's cousin who
disappeared on a trip to the cabin at Lake Dulcimer.
Friends of the Four
Friends
- Beth Newman - Friend of Diane,
works as a living mannequin model.
- Jessie Amberjack - Receptionist
at the Mall Office.
- Monica Sleet - A TV reporter
of singular self-centeredness.
- Jennifer Parks, a young, sexy
museum director (sometimes gallery director) who has a thing for Rick. BTW,
the Museum has not been given a full name; it was always just 'The Museum.'
- Winston, an elderly museum curator.
Note that sometimes these latter two are friends of the four, at other
times, foes (or statuefying agents we should call them.)
Mystical Creatures
& Gods
- Aur-Amon
& Nancy - Aur-Amon is a forgotten Egyptian god that can turn anyone to
gold with a single touch. Nancy is the archeologist who discovered him and
is now in charge of watching and caring for him. She holds a metal that protects
her from his power.
- Basilisk
- A six-legged alligator like creature that can turn a person to stone with
its gaze.
- Cockatrice - A roster/snake like
creature that can turn a person to stone with a touch.
- Hastur the Unspeakable, an insane
Elder God who ate a statuefied Diane and Harriet for dinner at one point and
travels trans-dimensionally across all of time and space.
- Malefarxus, an evil demon who
gains possession of Rick when he reads a passage from Harriet's family's magic
book.
- Euryale and Stheno, two immortal
Gorgon sisters who run a New Age shop, with statues the main moneymaker of
course.
- The Goddess Athena, who does
not like to be mocked or have her name taken in vain.
- The Imp, a tiny winged creature
summoned from a painting who wreaks havoc with her transformation powers.
In a few episodes, it is suggested that the imp's name is Imagonem, which
is the same as the word that caused her to come out of the painting to begin
with.
The Mason Family
- Kelly Mason - Heir to Mason's
Department store and Adventureland.
- Julie - Kelly's cousin.
- Charlise
- Kelly's older sister and friend of Diane's sister who disappeared.

- Miss Adventure - Our heroine
- Adventure Girl - Our heroine's
perky sidekick. The two are known as the Diplomatic Duo ala Batman and Robin.

gun and martial arts skills. She is Adventure Girl's fellow Junior Justice
Friend.

the Justice Friend's receptionist. Wander Dog is reportedly deceased. Marvin
has not been seen since the Justice Friends dismissed him.
- Polymer - Can change her shape
ala Plasticman, she's somewhat scatterbrained and can be a friend or a foe.
a.k.a. The Unstable Molecutie
- Black Cockatie l- Independent
super heroine who rides a specialized motorcycle. She's a publicity hound
and has a few sponsors.
- Super Al - A teenage superhero
wannabe who "fights" crimes with his two sidekicks, Wally Gator
and Tracy the Ape.
- Lanie Loss - Unwritten
- Penny Pyncher, a young superheroine
with the ability to squash people into coin shapes with her pressurized boots;
a newcomer from Hawaii.
- Katie Jean Griffin, a much reviled
television morning-show hostess.
Villains of the Horde of Gloom:

and situations into cartoon ones)
- Still-Life - Changes people into
two-dimensional paintings and printed objects.

Phil O. and Sophie Stone - An older couple in their 50s, he changes people

and goes on crime sprees.
- Bruno

- Dryad Dame - Can control plants
and tranforms people into plant. Territorial, she comes off as a villain to
the Justice Friends.
- Inga von Strudelheim - Part of
a criminal family of gorgeous women who look remarkably alike, she runs an
erotic wax museum and posesses paralyzing guns and gas that freeze people
on contact. In one branch of the storyline, she is plasticized permanently
(or so it seems).
- Ilsa - Inga's daughter, or so
she claims.
- Dawn - a morally-unchallenged
visual merchandiser
- Irene - A fashionista VM who's
collage of styles looks like a visual trainwreck. French in origin, she is
a co-worker of Dawn's.

Merchandising at the department store (name not given) and boss of Dawn &
Irene. Has some interesting ideas for 'livening' up the displays.

of Security for Adventureland.
(These two merge bodies in one storyline and become the super-villain Adamantite
Hermaphrodite.)

friends/duplicates of The Collector.

cop gone bad as a result of his petrification fetish.

robots and androids out of people.
- The Nefarious Droid, a villainous
robot with an unfulfilled crush on Miss Spell.

model ex-girlfriend.

in the world". Hatches plan to populate the universe via a world-ship
filled with frozen females and cloned replicas of himself. But where is Mr.Bigglesworth?
Otherworld
Character variations:
"Otherworld" is a notable gap in
the characters listing, so here's an attempt to fill it. I've only bothered
with the main characters.
I think it's a good idea to distinguish the four friends as they appear here
from their appearances in other threads, as they have some features here that
they have nowhere else. Episode numbers are those where a character or thing
is first referred to.
Otherworld [episode 70]
-
Rick: In the medieval fantasy
world, which Rick and his friends unexpectedly find themselves in, he appears
to be the Sheal'siner, which mean the prophesied one [episode 298]. He wears
an amulet of great power.
-
Harriet: Here, she has magical
powers. She is the "wizard" of the group [episode 167].
-
Rebecca: The group's "thief".
Diane: Skilled with a bow. The "warrior" of the group.
-
Tascia: The first native of
Otherworld whom the four friends meet. An elfwoman huntress, with startling
green eyes [episode 14] and golden hair, she wears blue and red "warpaint"
on her face. She becomes the guide and mentor of the group. In one major
subthread, she and Rick become lovers, sparking jealousy in Harriet.
-
Enreilla: An evil and very powerful
goddess, whom the foursome will have to try to overcome. [episode 87]
-
Arianna: The goddess of love
and healing, [episode 87] she was trapped by Enreilla many years before
and turned into a statue. Rick's mother's name was Arianna. [episode 150]
