70's, The [M] -
In episode 2, one character, a model, is stuck with the only job she can get by then: a freeze model for a store. Pretty impressive posework.

A Mom for Christmas [M] *
Store mannequin comes to life, others also.

Almost Human 2 [A] (SF) *
Female android. She runs out of power near the end.

Annihilator [A] (SF) -
Apparently contains fembots.

Arabian Nights [S] (SF) -
In the TV miniseries, the story of Aladdin features the petrifaction of the evil wizard Mustapha in a fairly flawless scene. In the series finale episode for Hercules, the titan Atlas gets stoned by Hera.

Assorted Bob Hope Specials [A] -
Bob must have a penchant for this fetish, otherwise he wouldn't keep doing sketches involving it on his Christmas specials. Loni Anderson and Mary Lou Retton have both played robot girls destined for Santa's sack.

Can of Worms [F] (SF)
A short little alien can freeze time in an area. He freezes a young teenage girl, and in the background you can see a women frozen carrying groceries. Its pretty good.

Chronicles of Narnia, The (Aired on PBS) [F] (SF)
"The lion the witch and the Wardrobe" * Statued girls revived, later others are transformed back to stone.

"Prince Caspian" * Freeze effect where characters get up and leave a ghost image behind.

Clown White [M]

[S] * Taco bell commercial with gilded "lady luck".

[M] 1/2 One in which Macaulay Culkin's girlfriend winds up as a cardboard cutout.

[F] - A DirectTV channel was running a continuously-looping commercial for the TiVO, a cool new digital VCR-like device. The TiVO spokesman is carrying a remote control that he uses several times to freeze people and scenes.

[S] - FLEX-ALL commercial. In the shot, a noted sports figure walks into a room with three bronze statues in various sport poses. The three (2 men and a women) come to life at the commerical's end to simulated that the drug does wonder with stiffness. The figures are good with great paint.

[S] - Beer commercial where the bushes and trees move as does a lawn sculpture (ie. person painted as a statue).

[F] * AT&T commercial where a limo full of singers (Desiny's Child) are frozen briefly. FX freeze, but with moving people inserted.

[I] ** Alka-Seltzer commercial. News woman freezes in GC ice.

[F] - There's a British commercial for Lucozade (a glucose drink) in which the computer-animated Lara Croft is being chased by a huge villain and a pair of Rottweilers. They freeze briefly when the game player hits Pause, then they unfreeze and Lara and the big guy (who turns out to be screamingly camp) drink some Lucozade to keep their strength up. Then they see the player returning, and they and the dogs get back into position before unfreezing and continuing the chase.

[I] **1/2 A spot for GE begins with a shot from far distance of a group of men dragging a caisson on top of which was a huge block of ice, embedded in which was a beautiful princess. In the rapidly shifting scene changes, you see close-ups of her and of her liberator, a young Prince Charming-type, who frees her from her freezing enclosure by turning up his GE tape deck to full volume, whose sound waves produce a shock wave sufficient to blast the princess loose.

[S] **1/2 An insurance comercial in the UK featured a medusa and a bunch of statues around a pool.

[M] - A Latino music channel, HTV, runs a promo featuring a mannequin riding through the Metro subway system (may be Spain, may be Mexico City DF) and another promo featuring dancing male mannequins in a factory production line.

[M] **1/2 A commercial from MTV for Comedy Central and it's holiday line up. Features girls from a bunch of shows painted and acting like animatronic window dummies, in a window. Nicely done, good closeups.

[M] * A mannequin comes to life briefly, to sell a new type of orange juice.

[M] * A living mannequin comes to life briefly to sell a sweater.

[M] *** An Argentina clothing commercial features a variety of models in very frozen poses, with things moving around them. There is no doubt it was filmed with motionless models.

[F] - Micron PC commercial circa 2000 starring Jeri "7 of 9" Ryan featuring a timestop in a corporate office.

[F] - In a commercial for Clockstoppers, a woman stops time to prank her boss by hitting him with a pie. I mention this because that commercial used no footage from the movie; it was an original scene. I think this was one of a series of commercials for the movie, all of which were along the lines of "What would you do if you could freeze time?" If anyone knows of any of the others, please let me know.

[M] ** In one of the "diamonds are forever" commercials, a man sees every woman as his wife, including a mannequin in a window (played by the actress, complete with seam lines). Brief, but good.

[F] - Infiniti car commercial with a time stop theme. It showed a car driving through a frozen city, and only after it passes by does everyone unfreeze. It has the tagline that says their car "makes everything else look like it's standing still." It's worth looking for.

[F] - A christmas 2003 Hudson's Bay commercial involves a group of living mannequins posed in lingerie, changing their poses when a woman (the manager, I guess), helping a lot of Santas, passes by them.

[F] - November 2003 commercial for Marks's Work Wearhouse and involved a pretty brunette woman at a party who comes across a guy she once dated. She's very upset and proceeds to throw her drink at him when everything freezes Matrix-style. A clerk from the Mark's Work Wearhouse suddenly appears in between the two, surveys the situation, and snaps his fingers two or three times, a nice-looking vest suddenly appearing on the guy each time he does. The clerk then snaps his fingers one more time, and the brunette girl turns into a nice blonde, holding the same position and the same drink as the brunette. The clerk disappears and the freeze is removed.

[F] - In Malaysia, Wall's Ice Cream's newest commericial theme is " As if the time stops for a while when enjoying Wall's" but the freeze is kind of an effects freeze.

[F] * Circa June, 04. AT&T "rain" commercial uses a bullet-time effect with a number of near-frozen men and women.

[M] ** Circa June, 04. An ad for VO5 shampoo on British TV shows a production line of mannequins being put together, and they become LMs once completed. When the shampoo is put on the LMs they become real people and run away.

[M] - Circa May, 04. A woman goes up to a Macy's Department Store window and there is a mannequin there wearing a green dress. It turns out the mannequin is her and she winks back at herself. The mannequin part only lasts about five seconds but it could be nice if you tape it.

Coppelia [A] (M&P) -
A ballet about a man who falls in love with a mechanical doll, and his true love impersonates the doll. Performed on PBS once or twice, quite well.

Dumbo's Circus [A] -
A live-action costume show from the Disney Channel. Lilly (a trapeze-flying cat) is sick, and one of the folks builds a mechanical duplicate. Sounds silly, but very sexy.

Face of the 80's [M] ***
Fashion show with freeze modeling.

Fame Holiday Special [M] ***1/2
Includes Lori Singer and others as animated dancing mannequins. This is a live version of a skit to the same song in episode "Expose" (see TV series guide page). When moving, the women move very awkward and mechanical, when not moving, they strike very sexy and mannequin-like poses.

Goddess of Love [S] **
The movie where Vanna White plays the Greek goddess of love. She gets turned to stone a couple of times. Pretty decent effect.

Hugga Bunch, The [F] (SF) -
A young girl is trying to find a way to keep her grandmother from growing old. She finds that she can travel into mirrors to HuggaLand. She goes to a evil witch to get "young berrys" but the witch freezes the girl in time.

I Dream of Jeanie, 20 years later [F] ***
I never saw Barbara Eden freeze people in the TV series. In this 1980's movie she finally gets her act together. In one scene at a party, she freezes everyone. Its near the end.

Life Size [M] *
Tyra Banks is a doll who's accidentally brought to life by a young girl. One average transformation scene at the end, but she gets so small it's hard to see much.

Lookalike, The [M] ***
Melissa Gilbert and others have mannequin doubles (they pose still).

Playboy Sexy Lingerie 2 [M] -
Mannequins segment where two mannequins come to life for the visual merchandiser.

Playboy Sexy Lingerie 5 - "The Heist" [M] -
catburglar playmates are surprised in the vault of the Bank of Lingerie and pose as mannequins to fool the guard.

Return of Captain Nemo, The [F] **
Crew members are frozen by a freezing ray gun. Several good shots of a female crewmember.

Return of the Munsters [A] **

In part two of the mini-series, a girl is seen posing with some real mannequins in a shop, for no apparent reason.

Tenth Kingdom, The [S] *
In this TV mini-series (now availible on video) John Larroquette is briefly gilded as he recieves the Midas Touch. He later gilds a trio of ugly trolls and a dog. If only he'd touched his grown daughter with that finger...

Twas the Night [F] ***
A thief uses Santa's magic to stop time at a party and steal things. A few nice female shots.
